Rio do Prado (Óbidos)

A estadia no Rio do Prado foi um presente do Pedro. Como expliquei aqui, durante muito tempo, nós só viajávamos dentro de Portugal, com algumas viagens pontuais pela europa (mas sempre perto de Portugal). E apesar de sentir que podia ter viajado mais, não me arrependo porque fomos conhecendo muitos cantinhos daqui (mais a sul, ainda me falta conhecer muito do norte).

O Rio do Prado é um hotel ecológico que fica na zona do Arelho em Óbidos.

A lagoa de Óbidos era um dos sítios de eleição dos meus pais para passarmos férias no verão, por isso já conhecia bem aquela zona, se bem que há coisas que estão completamente diferentes. Lembro-me que havia uma tasquinha onde íamos sempre, que tinha uma máquina arcade que eu adorava, e passava lá a vida enfiada, agora é um restaurante mais “fancy” onde se paga demais e se come nada de especial, mas eu já aceitei que as coisas mudam e que “recordar é viver”. (Mentira. Sou uma criança mimada e quero a máquina de volta - o jogo era o bubble bobble).

Mas, voltando ao Rio do Prado, que ainda não existia na altura em que eu ia para Óbidos de férias, por isso não tenho nada para criticar, eu gosto mesmo muito deste sítio.

O zona da piscina é estupidamente bonita. Os quartos são bonitos e confortáveis. (Não vou sequer falar da banheira gigante onde passei o tempo toda enfiada). E a comida é maravilhosa e caseirinha.

Como sou uma sortuda (de vez em quando acontece), já estive no Rio do Prado várias vezes, a primeira vez como - cliente/ pessoa que está alojada no hotel e usufrui de todos os benefícios do mesmo aproveitando as férias ao máximo - e as outras vezes, em modo de trabalho, mas aproveitando na mesma alguns benefícios como a COMIDA.

O pequeno almoço é daqueles mesmo bons que passamos a manhã toda a enfardar porque queremos experimentar tudo, existem bicicletas que podemos usar à vontade para conhecer a zona à volta, e a zona da piscina é perfeita para quem não quer mesmo fazer nada e ficar só ali espalmado ao sol.

À noite, podem ir dar uma volta pela vila ou ficar mesmo por ali para jantar, porque a comida é mesmo boa, bem melhor que muitos restaurante na zona, e ao final do dia eles acendem umas fogueirinhas lá fora, onde podemos ficar sentados à conversa com os donos do hotel, o Telmo e a Marta, que são uns fixes.

Faltou só falar da estufa que é para mim, um dos espaços mais bonitos do Rio do Prado. Mas mais fácil que escrever, é ver para acreditar.

Our stay at Rio do Prado was a gift from Pedro (for those who do not know, Pedro is my boyfriend and travel partner). As I wrote here, for a long time, we only traveled in Portugal, with some punctual journeys through Europe (but always near Portugal). And although I feel that I could have traveled more, I do not regret it because we got to know many places here (more to the south, I still have to know much of the north).

Rio do Prado is an eco-friendly hotel in Arelho, Óbidos. I used to come here on vacation with my parents, so I already knew the area well, although there are things that are now completely different. There was a little restaurant with an arcade machine that I loved, and I would spend all my time in there while my parents were having dinner, and now it's a fancy restaurant. But I've already accepted that it's normal for things to change. I call it growing up. (It’s all a lie, I have no maturity at all, I just want the old restaurant with the Arcade machine back - I think it was the game of bubble bobble).

But, back to the subject of Rio do Prado, which did not exist at the time I spend my vacations in Óbidos, so I have nothing to complain about, I really fell in love with this place.

The area by the pool is insanely beautiful. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. (I will not even talk about the tub where I spent all the time tucked in). And the food is wonderful and home cooking.

And because I'm a lucky girl (It can happen from time to time), I've been to Rio do Prado several times, the first time as a customer/person staying at the hotel and enjoying all the benefits as one should on vacation, and the other times, in working mode, but still taking advantage of some benefits like the FOOD.

This place has one of those breakfasts that make you want to overeat because you want to try everything. There are bicycles you can use as you please, and I absolutely recommend you use them to walk around the area. And there is a swimming pool for people who do not want to do anything and just lie there in the sun.

At night, you can go for a walk around the village or stay in, because the food is really good and much better than some of the restaurants in the area, and they also light up bonfires outside, so you can sit outside and talk to the owners of the hotel, Telmo and Marta, who are really nice people.

I can't forget to mention the greenhouse that is already beautiful in itself, with the attentive details that Marta and Telmo give in the decoration, the plants, and the wooden tables.

Overall, a great place to visit whether you’ll go in the summer or winter.
