Rome/ Capri/ Amalfi Coast
Rome
First time in Rome and what was the best part? It’s a beautiful place and the monuments are truly inspiring, but…THE FOOD. Food, food, food. I want to go back to Italy (I’ve been to Rome twice, gain many pounds), and just eat. The pizzas, the fresh pastas, the ice cream. I don’t remember the name of all the restaurants but this is the best one - Cantina e Cucina. This restaurant! OMG. It’s mandatory that you try this place.
Yes, as you can see from the pictures above, in 2016 we still used paper maps!
Capri
Beautiful views, a very fancy place for people with all the yachts. I've heard that the Kardashians looove Capri! But honestly, for people like me, without the yachts, it’s a nice place, but a very expensive one. After spending some days in Rome, eating like there was no tomorrow, surrounded by nice and interesting people, Capri didn’t have the same vibe. The food wasn't bad, but it felt a little bit touristy, all of it, to be honest.
Amalfi Coast
We stayed in Positano and it was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed in Airbnb. The view from our bedroom was the immense sea right in front of us. We could walk down the stairs and we had our own private beach!
The best way to travel around here is by bus. I, myself, did not enjoy these rides very much, since the buses got really close to the roadside, and the road is very way up high. My vertigo did not enjoy this at all. My suggestion - don’t look down.
Also, the weather is very bipolar in this area. We arrived from the ferry with our bags, took the bus to the Airbnb and it was a very bright and beautiful day, all of the sudden it starts pouring rain and we had to make a run to the house. 10 minutes later it was sunny again.
The food here was also so much better!
