Brussels, Gent, Bruges
Brussels is a lovely place for a long weekend getaway. we decided to go in December to catch the Christmas markets. In 4 days we saw Brussels, Bruges, and Gent.
We stayed at a cute Airbnb in Brussels.
My advice to you would be to walk around the most as you can. I believe that's the best way to see everything and since is quite a small place, you can just walk around sightseeing.
My favorite places in Brussels were the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert where I ate the BEST waffle of my life (I order the one with only sugar and cinnamon to really taste the waffle) and the parks, they have so many beautiful parks. And because I'm all about the food, you have to eat their famous moules&frites.
In Bruges, my favorite part was the Market Place in the central town square of Bruges and the chocolate factory (we went to this one and we ate a lot of chocolate). Haha. I’m now noticing how much I talk about food.
Of all the three, my favorite place was Gent and I would recommend you to visit the Castle of the Counts, Gravensteen, a medieval castle at Ghent, East Flanders in Belgium. They have a very unique and entertaining tour inside the Castle (they have a sarcastic humour and it makes it even more fun).
It was a very lovely getaway for 4 days.
