DAY 9 - Hiroshima and Miyajima

Arrived at Hiroshima, what is the first thing to do? Eat Okonomiyaki! And what is that you may ask, it's a gigantic pancake with many, many, layers.

After lunch, we visited the Atomic Bomb Dome, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, and the Children's Peace Monument.

Then we decided to go to Itsukushima, also known as Miyajima, a small island in Hiroshima Bay known for the orange Great Torii Gate that is partially submerged at high tide. We didn’t check the tides times before we go, but if you really want that picture where the Torii Gate is surrounded by water, then you should check that before you go.

We found some of our little deer friends in here too.
